Coolhunt | Giving through glass

What is it?

It's a new program from Google. They give 5 non-profit organisations the chance to promote their transparency and offer people a quick few of the daily routine in their everyday work. The World wildlife fund, Samasource, Givedirectly, Do something! and Charity water are the first five charities who contribute to this program. They can share photos or videos. Or even have a volunteer record their daily work to show to the people who donate their money to these charities. Or you can let a member wear it to a board meeting so you can see what they are discussing about.

Why is it cool?
This way everybody knows how they are spending your money. We all hear stories about charities who only use a small amount of the donated money on the real problems and we still don't really know what they are spending it on. If you can watch daily updates on their jobs, people are more likely to actually donate money to these charities.

Why does it have future growth potential?

If people donate more money because they get faith in these charities. They can do even greater things for these countries. If you want to succeed as a charity you have to be transparent and honest about the way u spend the money. People really want to know what you're doing. They don't just give money to a charity anymore!
I know I would donate money to charities if they can prove its worth it!
